Olive Oil and I

So, I am happy to announce a new product that I will be testing: Hollywood Beauty's Olive Oil Hairdress.

Now before anyone mentions that I should go to rehab, since I obviously have a problem purchasing all these crazy products, you must know that I am somewhat, kind-off pondering going "au natural"...

Yes, I am thinking about it.

Now, I know that this is a huge endeavor, therefore I am doing my research.

There are many reasons why I want to transition, but here are the main ones:

1. I am sick of the breakage; No matter how much I moisturize, it seems to never be enough. I swear, I will put a dollop of cream at night and by morning, my hair will be dry. (Though still condition.)
2. I am bored with straight hair; Yup, I am looking for a curly look and the straight image has reached its limits. I think I need a new image.
3. I am scared of the relaxer; I have seen pictures; I have read testimonials; I have witness massive hair breakage. Why am I still wearing chemicals? Though it is a personal choice, I decided to see if I would be able to care for my OWN hair. Yes, the strands I was born with.
4. I am excited over the thought of no longer sitting under a hair dryer; For this reason alone, I am excited for! If I follow the Twist and Curl technique, I can kiss rollers and hair dryers good-bye!

My plan basically is to go three more months from now without relaxing. I want to see my hait texture and figure out it I will be able to do this.

Am I planning to do a big chop? Hell, no! If worst I will try to work out both textures, or get extensions or a weave.

The olive oil cream really works well with my hair without leaving it greasy. However, it is too soon to give out a rating, so keep checking this blog for more information!

Nail Care - 101

As I promised, I am going to start to add articles about Nail Care. We all know, that nails gets plenty of attention we talk and meet people. I always tend to look at a women's manicure or a men's state of fingernails.

Often, our nails can indicate our general health and hygiene. If I see a guy with ragged nails with gunge under his fingernails, I have the impression that he is not clean. ( I know you should not judge a book by it's cover, but the first impression is important!)

I used to waste a lot of money paying people to take care of my nails. However, I quickly realize that apply gel or acrylic is not the best method to promote growth and health. In fact, I always got negative results once I removed the fake nails.

My nails were brittle, weak and prone to break even if I was careful!

I decided to start my journey, and for those who are interested, hop on board and get ready for the ride!

Here is my basic nail regime I am currently following:

Wash hands with mild soap, using a nailbrush.

• Soak the hands in warm water for a few minutes to soften the cuticles.
• Gently push back the cuticles.
• Trim the nails to the same length (hard part since my nails have varying lengths!)
• File the ends of the nails to smooth them off.
• If your hands are dry, apply some hand cream. ( I apply hand cream throughout the day!)

My number one problem with my Nail Regimen is to prevent myself from biting my nails! Ack! It's so hard for me, but I am improving!

I was discussing to a few friends of mine how much I hate my nails! Just like hair, there is an overwhelming amount of information and products on how to take proper care of your nails.

I used to go get my nails done by professionals (Well, actually I do not think they were professionals... I am pretty sure they had no credentials) but after applying gel to my nails and removing them, my nail were brittle and weak.

My friends and I laughed how my nail and hair care seem to have the same problem. Then it hit me, why not have a portion of this site dedicated to nail care. My friends thought it was a great idea, and also, I can be a nail care guinea pig!

So, stay tune, because in the next following weeks, I will be testing new products and giving you guys the 411!
