And ladies, I do not know what's the fuss!
Seriously,it went really, really well!
First off, I am sorry I have no pics... I purposely recharged my batteries for the event but I guess they were not properly charged or that they are officially dead... I was so mad!
Anyway, here is the full scope about how I did:
Like I mention on my previous post, I was going to base my relaxing method on LOVEYA4EVER. So, I greased (with Vaseline) my base and nape, ears, forehead, neck and whatnot! I was really scared to get burn, hihi!
Then, I detangled (gently!) my hair and added conditioner to the previously relaxed hair. I do this to prevent over processing.
Afterward, I sectioned by hair and twist them into Bantu Knots. I used a bobby pin to secure them down.
Once my hair was detangled and bantu-ed up, I got down on my knees and did a little prayer! Lol, I am kidding but really I was praying not to screw up my hair progress!
Before starting the process, I made sure I had ALL the necessary things with me:
- Tint Brush
- Wide Tooth Bomb
- Gloves
- Timer
- Cutting Cape
- Damp towel
- Instructions
Doing this built up my confidence! Following the instructions, I mixed up the relaxer cream and starting from the middle part of my hair, I added the relaxer to the new growth and smoothed it with a comb.
With 20 minutes, which was the time given by the instruction manual, I had a lot of time to get my hair smooth out.
I need the entire box of Dark and Lovely, but I had enough.
The only section of my hair that did not take very well (it<s relaxed, but not as smooth as everywhere else) was the left back middle-section of my hair. Sucks! But, I will know for the next time.
When my time was up, I rinse out the relaxer and it did not burn at all! Ladies, you do not need to burn to get the desired results. My hair was relax and beautiful without having to wait until I was burning to rinse off. Follow the time instructions, and you should be fine!
So after rinsing, I used my favorite conditioner. Yes, I did not proceed to use the Neutralizer Shampoo right away! I creamed up, waiting for about a minute or two, then I rinse off and used the Shampoo.
PLEASE USE THE NEUTRALIZER SHAMPOO! I do not believe anyone is crazy enough to skip it, but use it and lather up 4-5 times! The lather had to be white! If you doubt it, then shampoo again!
Once I was sure that the pH in my hair was neutralized, I add Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner and an instant rinse. Rinse off, patted my hair dry, deep-condition and yada-yada...
After removing my rollers, I notice that my hair felt AMAZING! And sadly enough the results were better than some salons I paid to get done...*SIGH*
I really like the results of my work, and you can bet that I will do it again in 9 weeks time! I just wish I always done this!
Why-o-why did I give my money away?????
